Next Wednesday is the first day of school. To help children have what they need when they return for class Aug. 8, the Southern Standard is collecting school supplies at our office at 105 College Street. The campaign, called Load the Lobby, is asking for local residents to make school supply donations such as notebooks, crayons, pencils, glue, and other basic items.
