A woman has been hit with felony assault charges after she allegedly shot over her neighbor’s head when she caught him trimming her bushes. The woman, Connie June Newby, 61, waived her right to a preliminary hearing before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke and was bound to the grand jury on the charge of aggravated assault. The charge carries three to six years in prison if she is convicted.According to the victim, Eddie Hennessee, he was outside his Bybee Branch Street residence trimming his bushes when a round of shot whizzed over his head.“She yelled the next time I would need an ambulance,” Hennessee told police when they arrived to investigate the incident.Police learned the neighbors had arguments in the past and there may have been questions concerning the boundary since Hennessee claimed the bushes he was trimming were in his yard, while Newby claimed they were her bushes. “I saw him in my yard trimming my bushes,” Newby told police.
