Relay for Life set for Friday
The excitement of Relay for Life is set for tonight at Nunley Stadium beginning at 5 p.m.

In addition to music and food, there’s a new twist to Relay for Life this year – blood.
Relay for Life, now in its 14th year in Warren County, kicks off tonight at 5 p.m. at Nunley Stadium.
For those looking to take a break from walking around the track, Blood Assurance will be on hand seeking blood donations. Blood Assurance is the sole blood supplier for Saint Thomas River Park.
“Because so many cancer patients us blood products during treatment, we are holding this blood drive,” said Blood Assurance representative Lori Love. “Oftentimes cancer patients receive red blood cells, plasma, and platelets during different stages of treatment. Each month, Saint Thomas River Park uses between 75 and 140 units of blood products.  We’re looking for local heroes to donate blood to those in the community who are in need.”
Donations will be accepted from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Blood Assurance donor express bloodmobile.
As for other activities, entertainment starts at 5 p.m. with The On the Road Again Show from Viola.
Other Relay for Life events include:
6:30 p.m. -- Opening ceremonies
7 p.m. -- Survivor lap
8 p.m. – Auction
10 p.m. – Luminaria ceremony
10:30 p.m. – Joe Harvey Band
Midnight – Closing ceremony
The track will be lined with a number of food vendors and carnival-style games with proceeds going to Relay for Life, which funds cancer research.
