Nothing beats a movie and popcorn, except several free movies with free popcorn.
McMinnville Parks and Recreation Department is offering a free movie every month through November so mark your calendar for these family-oriented events.
“We are showing movies again this year,” said Kendra Foust, McMinnville Parks and Recreation program coordinator. “They were a big hit last year and we wanted to continue them. We hope everyone comes out and enjoys them.”
Saturday, April 15, at 6 p.m. “Moana” will be shown at Cat Walker Field;
Saturday, May 20, at 7 p.m. “Monster Trucks” will be shown at Cat Walker Field;
Saturday, June 10, a Drive-in Movie will be offered at Gilley Pool at 7 p.m. The movie has not been determined;
Tuesday, July 4, at 11 a.m. “Jaws” (1975) will be shown at Park Theater;
Saturday, July 15, at 7 p.m. “The Secret Life of Pets” will be shown outdoors at McMinnville Civic Center;
Friday, Aug. 11. Movie during Smokin’ in McMinnville with time and movie title yet to be determined;
Saturday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m. “Grease” (1978) will be show at Park Theater as part of a special 1950s theme night;
Tuesday, Oct. 31. Movie to be shown at 6 p.m. during Trail of Treats festivities. Movie yet to be determined;
Saturday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. inside the Civic Center gym. Title not determined.
Times may vary depending on when the sun goes down.
Movie-goers are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for outdoor movies. Alcohol will not be permitted. Smoking will not be allowed on the field or inside the Civic Center or Park Theater.
The Redemption Center will be providing free popcorn and Dr Pepper products.
