Man reportedly assaults manager

A shoplifter trying to make off with a $5 bag of diapers faces assault charges for injuring a Kroger manager as he fled the store.The suspect, Johnathan Andrew Skinner, 24, is charged with shoplifting and assault for the incident that left the female assistant manager at Kroger with injuries to her left elbow and right knee.She was injured when she tried to intercept Skinner as he was leaving without paying for a bag of Kroger-brand baby diapers.“I saw him conceal a 24-count of Kroger-brand comfort diapers having a retail value of $5.99 inside his jacket,” the manager said in her warrant against Skinner, noting the man strolled through the self-pay section of the checkout area and did not offer to pay for the diapers.The manager said she stopped him at the exit and was shoved into the door. She kept trying to detain him as he bolted for the second set of doors, hitting them with enough force to knock the doors off their track.Skinner reportedly shoved the manager one more time once he got outside, knocking the woman into a concrete post.
