Keller ditches dog in police chase

A man who fled the law in a stolen car and then left his puppy behind after he wrecked the vehicle has been hit with several charges.The suspect, Jean-Luc Keller, 26, is charged with reckless endangerment with a motor vehicle, evading arrest and reckless endangerment.His charges come after Highway Patrolman Kyle Herren caught him speeding on Manchester Highway and tried to pull him over.“The vehicle sped up and attempted to flee,” Herren said, noting the black Nissan Versa then turned onto Country Club Lane, then onto Vervilla Road and Taylor Lane.The trooper said Keller then made a dangerous maneuver once on Taylor Lane. “When I turned on Taylor Lane, the vehicle came head on to me at a high rate of speed.”Keller crashed the stolen car into a ditch and fled the scene on foot. Herren noted that in his haste to flee, Keller left his dog behind in the car.
