Students and teachers at Hickory Creek Elementary received an extra special treat on Halloween – no school.Due to problems with the heat, school was canceled Tuesday.A letter emailed to parents on Monday said, “Hickory Creek Elementary experienced a problem with its boiler and heating system on Monday, 10-30-2017. Our maintenance staff has worked to resolve the problem but the problem will not be repaired by morning. Classes at Hickory Creek Elementary will be canceled on Tuesday, 10-31-2017, due to the heating system failure and temperatures falling into the 30s overnight.
