Gospel music for the soul

Park Theater is the stage for an intimate evening with Mike Farris this Saturday, Feb. 10. The musician is offering an acoustic concert and proceeds will benefit Lighthouse Ministry and its homeless shelters in Warren County.

Mike Farris, the founder and lead singer of Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies, is set to take the Park Theater stage this Saturday, Feb. 10.

“I’m grateful for every show I do,” said Farris. “This will be my first performance in Warren County.”
Since 2001, Farris has been on a solo career and now offers a spirited, soul-gospel fusion of music.

He won the Americana Music Award for New/ Emerging Artist in 2008, and a Dove Award in 2010.

Farris will be joined by Bart Walker. Fans can expect an intimate, acoustic performance.

“It will be an acoustic show so I will be playing songs from my collection acoustically,” said Farris. “I’ll be bringing our guitar player, Bart Walker, with us, who is an amazing musician and singer as well. It will be a much more intimate experience than the band experience, which is fairly high-energy.”

Proceeds from the event will go to support Lighthouse Ministry’s women’s shelter. The organization offers a hands up for homeless individuals. Lighthouse Ministry also offers a men’s homeless shelter.

Music begins at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at or locally at Park Theater, Warren County Chamber of Commerce, and Warren Arts.

Tickets: Premium $25 (first eight rows), preferred $20 (row nine and up on lower level), and $15 balcony.
