A drowning victim was recovered Saturday afternoon from Rock Island State Park around 2 p.m.
According to preliminary reports, a 26-year-old male was swimming with friends at the Sandbar area of the state park when he went under the water and did not resurface.
Officials were not releasing any other information about the victim at press time, pending notification of family.
Members of the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and Warren County Rescue Squad were paged to the scene shortly after noon on Saturday. A special diving team from White County was also called.
