DesJarlais says he has a good reason for missing the political forum.
U.S. Rep. Scott DesJarlais says he has a good reason for missing the Southern Standard/ WCPI political forum last week in McMinnville."I was in Congress doing the work the American taxpayers pay me to do," said DesJarlais. "I think that should have been noted in the story you ran."DesJarlais is seeking his fourth term as representative for Tennessee's 4th Congressional District, which includes Warren County. His three Republican challengers were all in attendance. It should be noted DesJarlais has never attended a political forum sponsored by the Standard.Should he win the GOP primary, DesJarlais would advance to the general election against Democrat Steven Reynolds.DesJarlais wouldn't commit to attending a political forum in McMinnville with Reynolds."It doesn't make sense to do those things if you're ahead," said DesJarlais.
