After the wrapping paper stops flying and the toys have been freed from their packaging, there's going to be a Christmas vacation lull.
Students still have an entire week with no school.
In effort to engage their minds in creative pursuits, the Standard has published a coloring book inside today's edition. Not only can children occupy their time by tapping into their artistic reserves, they can win cash for their coloring prowess.
Seldom has wielding a crayon been so profitable as the grand prize is $50, followed by a second-place prize of $25 and a third-place prize of $15.
The contest guidelines are simple. Find the coloring book inside today's edition and get to work. The competition is open to children ages 3 to 12.
Children can color one page or all four. Submit their finished entries to the Standard office by Jan. 4 at 5 p.m. A panel of distinguished judges will determine the winners, who will be notified the following day.
Good luck and may the crayons be with you.
