“We have nine different churches that are coming together to do a large back to school worship event,” said Pioneer youth pastor Tyler Ham. “Basically, the purpose of it is for our students in the community to come together for an evening of worship. We typically gather as separate individual churches. For one night, we are coming together as one community and one united group. We are calling this event OneUnited.”

Among those participating are First Baptist Church, Gath Baptist Church, Friendship Baptist Church, Tree City Church, Resurrection and Hope Baptist Church, Gum Springs Baptist Church, Eastside Baptist Church and Westwood Church of Christ.

Offered during the event will be games, bounce houses, food trucks and guest speaker Jay Barbier. He is with the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board.

The first two hours of the event will be open time for students to socialize and enjoy the games and activities. At 7 p.m., participants will move into the sanctuary for worship.

Admission is $6 per person. That cost will go toward covering the cost of the event. Pioneer Community Church is located at 1707 Yager Road.
