The question of whether Paige Chastain will remain the one and only full-time executive director of Main Street McMinnville has been answered.
“I have resigned,” said Chastain, who confirmed rumors of her resignation Thursday. “My last day is Oct. 31.”
However, she has offered to work 15 hours a week after that date to perform administrative duties until the Main Street McMinnville board can complete the hiring process and select someone for the full-time position.
Chastain is the seventh person to leave Main Street McMinnville since July. Co-executive director Brook Holmes resigned and board president Vanessa Miller was impeached in early October. On the same night of Miller’s termination, board members Billy Wood and Kate Alsbrook resigned. Prior to that, board members Randy Garrison and Debbie Sain resigned.
The board voted to do away with co-executive directors, establish one full-time position, and take job applications. The position will be listed in coming weeks on websites and in the Southern Standard.
The board has indicated it would like to conduct face-to-face interviews with top applicants. Under the tentative plans is a clear job description for the executive director and perhaps even a contract. The board agreed it would like to see the director have an assistant.
Among other changes within the organization, a new location is being sought after a complimentary stay in the basement of the Chamber of Commerce building has ended and monthly rent will have to be paid.
The next meeting of the MSM board is Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 5:15 p.m. in the Security Federal community room.
