Theft and forgery charges have been leveled against a man who left a credit card trail after he stole a woman’s purse from the hospital parking lot.The suspect, Jesse Ray Laurin, 27, reportedly admitted to the theft and fraud charges. He faces nine criminal counts from his burglary and subsequent spending spree, with charges including burglary, theft, forgery and fraudulent use of a credit card.Laurin was caught by police shortly after the victim left River Park Hospital and found one of her car windows was broken. Her purse had been taken.Police found a trail of fraudulent charges to the woman’s credit card including charges at Pit Stop West, Domino’s and McMinnville Inn, all located inside the city.“A male subject fitting the description of the person passing the card was located walking from McMinnville Inn,” said McMinnville police officer Chris Hutchins.The officer said a search of his person netted a check from the victim’s checkbook.“There was a check made out to him for $200 with a forged signature,” Hutchins said.Police then went to his motel room and found items taken during the burglary.
