Mothers and sons danced the night away last Saturday night during Junior Auxiliary’s first Mother-Son Date Night.

Over 100 people participated in the superhero-themed fundraiser.

“We were thrilled with the community response,” said Wesley Cook, JA secretary and event co-chair. “We loved seeing all of the creative costumes.”

The event was a community effort, says JA president and event co-chair Suzy Casey.

“Several McMinnville businesses teamed up to make this event a success,” said Casey. “First National Bank of Middle Tennessee provided the decor for the event. TOPZ Frozen Yogurt & Metro Deli catered the event. The Sound Machine provided the music for the evening, and Sara Katherine Photography captured all of the memories.”

Sponsors of the event include McCay Wealth Advisory and Dr Pepper.

“JA would especially like to thank Monti Hillis and the Bobby Ray staff for allowing us access to their gymnasium for Coats for the Community and the Mother-Son dance which occurred on the same day,” said Casey. “We are only as good as our community, and we are thrilled to be a part of such a great one.”

Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville is a service organization that strives to serve the children of Warren County through events like Christmas in the Park, which is slated for Tuesday, Dec. 3 on Main Street. For more information, find Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville on Facebook.
