Get ready to get healthy.
Isha Care has organized the second annual McMinnville Community Health Fair. The event is free, open to the public, and will be offered at McMinnville Civic Center this Saturday.
The health fair is an effort to improve Tennessee’s national health ranking. When it comes to health, Tennessee is ranked 44th out of 50 states. Many of the most prominent diseases impacting the community are preventable or easily treatable with early detection and healthier lifestyle choices, both of which the fair strives to encourage.
Health fair hours are this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be over 40 practitioners and health-oriented businesses offering free consultations, demonstrations, information, coupons and samples.
Participants will be able to take advantage of essential health screenings and preventive health services offered by a diverse group of health practitioners, including licensed professionals in dentistry, optometry, chiropractic, physical therapy, nursing care and dietetics.
Accompanying activities and performances are sure to create a fun, light-hearted atmosphere, inspiring a more active lifestyle. This will include upbeat live music, martial arts demonstrations, chair massages, and natural food tastings. The Tennessee Army National Guard will have its rock climbing wall.
“Although our local health statistics have been alarming, it is reassuring to see so many health professionals and business owners reaching out to support community wellness with such enthusiasm,” said Kalpana Rajdev, MD, managing physician of Isha Care. “Because of so many generous contributions, we will be able to address a much broader range of needs across all ages this year.”
