Insight, magic, highlight World Peace Day
World Peace - magician
Magician Collins Key wowed the crowd Saturday by revealing details of a story told by members of the audience.
Intellectual discussion, live music, and even a touch of magic were among the highlights Saturday as Isha played host to over 1,000 guests at its second World Peace Day on Harrison Ferry Mountain.Visitors converged on the 1,400-acre Isha facility from 36 states and included guests from England, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, India, Columbia, Mexico and Canada.Mark Hyman, MD, and Isha founder Sadhguru engaged in a conversation addressing the world-wide epidemic of chronic disease and how it interferes with well-being and personal peace.“When we talk about threats to world peace, we talk about ISIS and instability in the Middle East, which are real and important, but nobody’s talking about the chronic disease epidemic and yet this is the single biggest threat to society today,” Dr. Hyman said. “A world where we are sick and overweight and burdened by disease and the cost of those diseases is very unstable and unsafe.” Among statistics cited by Hyman is the world-wide economic burden of managing the chronic disease epidemic, which he estimates will cost $47 trillion over the next 20 years if a drastic shift does not occur.
