A man who led officers on a high-speed chase with his children in the car will serve 90 days behind bars. The man, Ronald Chad Young, 28, entered guilty pleas before Circuit Court Judge Bart Stanley to charges of evading arrest, reckless endangerment, driving on a revoked license, and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to serve 90 days of a two-year sentence, perform 32 hours public service work and undergo a drug and alcohol assessment. His jail time comes after he fled sheriff’s investigator Steven Carpenter as the officer was trying to pull him over for speeding.“He continued at a high rate of speed, turning down side streets, and running stop signs,” Carpenter said in his warrants against Young. “He eventually pulled into an apartment complex and stopped.”The officer discovered Young’s driver license was revoked from DeKalb County for a DUI there in 2007.A search of his vehicle netted more charges as officers found a cigarette filled with what is believed to be marijuana.
