The National Weather service has issued a heat warning for middle Tennessee this afternoon as the heat index is expected to hit 105 in parts of the midstate. "The combination of heat and humidity that is in place will allow heat index values to reach the 102 to 105 range," the National Weather Service alert reads. If you must be outdoors, you should take necessary precautions to protect yourself from the heat.
