A woman who nearly ran over officers as she helped her fugitive boyfriend escape capture near the high school has been granted a judicial diversion, meaning she will serve no time.
The woman, Heather D. Fralix, 38, was granted a three-year judicial diversion on the charges of evading arrest with threat of death or injury and aggravated assault. She entered a no-contest plea to the charges. She can have her criminal record erased at the end of her probationary term if she gets into no more trouble.
Her charges were brought after deputies tried to stop her near Warren County High School. They had spotted her passenger, Jeff Hodges, 40, and knew he was wanted on burglary charges.
Officers say Fralix refused to pull over and instead started driving at a slow speed. Hodges, who has a long history of being a fugitive from justice, climbed out of her sunroof and jumped from the slow-moving car.
Officers gave chase but Hodges was able to evade capture. He was caught one week later hiding at a relative’s house in White County. He is awaiting his day in court on those charges.
Meanwhile, after letting Hodges jump from her car, Fralix continued to evade and nearly ran over a deputy as she was getting stopped near the gym entrance to Warren County High School. The schools were locked down for a short time while police chased Hodges.
