Luna graduates from UT-Martin
A Warren County resident was among students who received degrees from the University of Tennessee at Martin during the recent fall commencement held in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center on the UT Martin campus.
The student receiving a graduate degree was McMinnville resident Holly Beth Luna.
Ellis earns academic honors
Laela Ellis was recently named to the honors list at St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School. She is the daughter of Greg and Carolina Ellis of McMinnville, and is a freshman.
In addition to her outstanding achievements in the classroom, Laela is involved in the school’s theater program and recently appeared in the school’s production of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.”
Bond graduates fire academy
Firefighter James. J. Bond of the Flowood, Miss., Fire Department graduated Dec. 13 from the National Fire Protection Association 1001 Firefighter course held at the Mississippi State Fire Academy in Jackson.
The intensive six-week course included classroom and practical instruction in the area of fire behavior, fire suppression, rescue, incident command, hazardous materials and other fire related topics. This course meets and exceeds the National Fire Protection Association of Firefighter Qualifications and the uniform minimum training standards stated in the Mississippi Code.
Bond is the son of Johnny Bond Jr., and Georgia Bond of McMinnville. Bond and his wife, Jennifer, are the parents of Natalie Roberts, 11, and Gavin Bond, 11.
