A woman who failed a drug test after getting a probationary sentence was sent directly to jail following court Tuesday.
The woman, Amanda Davis, was given 11-month, 29-day sentence and ordered to make restitution by General Sessions Judge Larry Ross for theft. Her theft charge came after she was caught trying to smuggle clothing and cosmetics out of Walmart. That charge, however, brought only probation but her drug test brought her 10 days. Specifically, Judge Ross asked if she was under influence of any drugs. When the woman denied having any drugs in her system, he ordered an immediate test which she failed. When she failed, Judge Ross directed she be taken directly to jail to serve 10 days.
