Calvert excels for WCHS at business leader conference

The Donald Trumps, Steve Jobs and Warren Buffets of the world had to acquire their knowledge of business somewhere. Perhaps it was during their high school years as a member of Future Business Leaders of America.
FBLA is the premier organization for students preparing for careers in business and the largest student business organization in the world with over 250,000 members. FBLA prepares students to transition from school to the workforce with real-world professional experiences.
The national association partners with various organizations promoting educational programs and providing members with unique opportunities to practice skills and knowledge gained in the classroom.
At state leadership conferences, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills. Top state winners are then eligible to compete for national awards at the national leadership conference in the summer.
Warren County High School recently had 15 members to compete at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Chattanooga. Charles Calvert earned the right to compete at the national conference in Nashville this summer after placing third in the Help Desk competitive event.
Jessica Akers, Cheryl Bishop, Jamie Branin, Ric Kinkade, and Paddi Smith serve as FBLA advisers at the high school.
