The man who drove his car into Country Club Lake Memorial Day afternoon entered a guilty plea to drunk driving charges the day after his arrest.The driver, Dennis Burks was ordered to serve 48 hours of an 11-month, 29-day sentence, pay $350 plus costs, perform 24 hours public service work and lose his driver’s license for one year for DUI. His charges come after he lost control of his car and splashed into Country Club Lake. His car sank to the bottom within moments, forcing him to escape the sinking car through the sunroof. Burks later admitted to lawmen that he had been drinking.
