A man suspected of two armed robberies this week is in custody at Warren County Jail under $500,000 bond.

Harold Dawson Delong Jr., 52, has been arrested, according to Sheriff Jackie Matheny.

Delong is charged with one count of aggravated burglary for a Tuesday afternoon robbery of One-Stop Market in Centertown. Delong showed a gun, demanded cash, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Sheriff Matheny says Delong will also be brought before the grand jury for the robbery of Perry's Country Store on Monday. In that robbery, the person also showed a gun and left with cash.

It was the Tuesday heist in Centertown which led to Delong's capture. It was during that crime, very clear surveillance footage was captured, including a visible shot of the robber's face. The picture was published on the front page of Wednesday's Southern Standard.

Sheriff Matheny said that was responsible for solving the crime.

"After the photo was released, we began getting leads immediately," said Matheny. "As a matter of fact, I just got off the phone with a person who called in and said they knew who it was. We're really thankful for the response."

Matheny said the motive is drug-related.

"In the statement he gave us, he said he needed the money to buy drugs," said Matheny.
