A ceremony to name the Warren County Memorial Airport terminal building after Joe Lane Howard will be held this Saturday, Aug. 23, at 6 p.m. The event is open to the public.“Please join us in thanking Mr. Howard for his years of service,” said Warren County Memorial Airport director Richard Crawford. “This is a special occasion for us and we would like everyone to share in it.”Howard served as a member of the Warren County Memorial Airport Commission for over 40 years and served as chairman of that commission for over 30 years. Actively involved in aviation since 1967, Howard held multiple aircraft type ratings, served both as a private and corporate pilot, served as a director of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Warbird Division for over 30 years, served on the state of Tennessee Aeronautical Commission, and was chairman of that commission for three years.
