The Warren County Middle School soccer team continued to roll through the competition Thursday night when the Pioneers went up against the Franklin North Trojans at Nunley Stadium.
The Pioneers scored five goals in 10 minutes in the first half. At the end, the Pioneers destroyed the Trojans, 10-0.
“Our defense and goalies have played great and continue to improve,” said WCMS coach Matt Jackson.
The Pioneers were led by another hat trick from F.D. de Santiago, while Brian de Santiago had two goals. John Jackson, David Castro, Bryce Redmon, Jerry Mrema and Albert Rouse, added one goal apiece for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers dominated much of the first half, and put the game away early, thanks to five goals in 10 minutes to lead at the half 5-0, on their way to another blowout victory to start the season.
The visiting Trojans continued to struggle in the second half against the Pioneer attack, and couldn’t get anything in the scoring column. Time ran out for the Trojans as the Pioneers scored five more goals to win in convincing fashion.
The Pioneers were back on the road in Algood on Friday night. WCMS won 2-0 in a game played on a bumpy field that made passing difficult.
