The WCMS football team possesses nothing short of an abundance of talent and is poised for a good season.

The WCMS Pioneers lost an enormous graduating class, however they have several pieces to plug in. WC has countless players ready to step up and become the next wave of successful Pioneers.

The Pioneers feature a nasty run game mixed in with a head-hunter defense that coaches are excited about. The offense loses starting quarterback Brady Swallows to the next level, but won’t skip a beat with the emergence of eighth-grader Kristopher Robledo.

Robledo features lightning-fast speed along with his ability to lay the wood. It’s for sure, Robledo likes to hit. To complement Robledo is running back Lex Winfree, who plays both sides of the ball as a running back and defensive lineman. Lex has a high motor that has coach David Craven raving about. Craven says, “He never quits on the play.”

Warren County features a hard hitting defensive front from D-lineman Lex Winfree and hard-hitting edge rusher Peyton Ray. Ray is willing to do whatever it takes to get to the quarterback. The Pioneers have a huge defensive line to complement those pieces and that creates a scary good defensive front.

In the secondary, the leader is none other than Kristopher Robledo. Robledo hopes to lead the secondary and create a dynamic defense. With the season right around the corner the Pioneers are hungry to get back out there and prove what they’ve got.

The first game for WCMS comes this Thursday on the road at Franklin North. The Pioneers are looking to get revenge from last year’s loss to the Gators. It’s for sure, coach Ben Matheney’s Pioneers are hungry and look to march to some wins this year.
