WCHS, Tullahoma to square off in alumni game

The Coffee Pot rival trophy will be on the line this Saturday night at 7 p.m. when the Pioneer alumni take on the Wildcats at Tullahoma High School.
The WCHS alumni football team is set to battle the Tullahoma Wildcats at Tullahoma High School tomorrow night at 7 p.m.The passing game has looked strong for the Pioneers, led by QB Preston Smith, Lamont “Bone” Blevins at the receiver position and Bryson Lewis, splitting time at receiver as they continue to make big plays practice after practice, according to teammate Alan Perkins.The defense also looks ready for the Wildcats as the Pioneers continue their strong play, led by Andrew Regan, Jeremy Chisam and Frank Martin.There have been no injuries to any of the Pioneers heading into the big game and Perkins had this to say on what the team’s mindset is heading into Saturday night.“The mindset of the team on offense is to play balanced and defensively, trying not to give up the deep ball.”Perkins added, “Tullahoma’s quarterback has a cannon for an arm and is very accurate, so we have to keep constant pressure on him and stay with our assignments.”The Coffee Pot rival trophy will be on the line in the game and offensive lineman Chris Owen had this to say about the trophy and the game.“We are taking home the Coffee Pot and from now on, it comes through Warren County.” The WCHS alumni team has been practicing for several months and is hoping the Warren County football faithful will make the trip to Tullahoma on Saturday night. Tickets are $10.
