In a high-scoring contest that could have gone either way, Tennessee Warehouse played Denning and Cantrell on Monday night in the 7-9 girls youth league division.
After the total was tallied, only 2 runs separated the teams, as a big fifth inning gave the Warehouse an extra stock of runs in a game they won, 12-10.
Ivy Elrod, Addy Cocke and Elizabeth Bryant scored in the first inning for TN Warehouse, but Denning and Cantrell noticed the deficit and took action right away with Kaidence Crouch, Chloe Hayes, Bella Campbell and Boey Adams all scoring for a 4-3 lead.
Denning and Cantrell’s defense held Tennessee Warehouse in the second inning to no runs while Brooke Kesey and Crouch added 2 more to Denning’s total, 6-3.

It was fourth-inning action that gave TN Warehouse a commanding lead, as Elrod, Kaylee Kneer, Cocke, Presley Winfree, Lola Wells, Kinsey Shields and Kaydence Wiser all scored to give the lead to TN Warehouse, 11-6. Wiser scored one more in the fourth for a 12-6 lead.
Denning and Cantrell was on its last bat, but didn’t give up trying to come back on Tennessee Warehouse. Kesey, Crouch, Hayes and Adams all scored to drive up the run count to 12-10, but it wasn’t enough at the end of the inning.
