Titans fire offensive coordinator

An ugly season has just gotten uglier for the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans fired offensive coordinator Chris Palmer on Monday night in the wake of the team's poor performance Sunday in Jacksonville. The one-win Jaguars beat the hapless Titans for Tennessee's second embarassing loss of November.

Earlier in the month, the Titans were pounded by the Chicago Bears at LP Field in a game that saw more Chicago fans in attendance than Titans fans.

Quarterback coach Dowell Loggains has been named the new offensive coordinator as the Titans (4-7) look to play better before the season ends.

While Palmer is the coordinator who was axed first, it's hard to overlook the Titans defense when it comes to assessing blame for this woeful season. The defense often plays like a bunch of Cinderellas and is not physical or aggressive.

There is widespread speculation head coach Mike Munchak will be shown the door in the offseason after the team has regressed in his second season. The front office should accept some of the blame as well as the Titans have very few playmakers on either side of the ball.
