Tennessee Warehouse, who had suffered a previous loss to Netherton Dentistry faced off against each other in the opening round of the girls 7-9 softball tournament on Monday night.Tennessee Warehouse was trailing early but used a five-run third inning to come away with the victory, 9-8.Addy Belle Cocke and Mackenzi Haile led the way at the plate for Tennessee Warehouse, both going 3-for-3. Emily Richardson and Kenisha Wallard added two hits, while Lilly Gillespie, Elizabeth Bryant, Lola Wells and Malayiah Manor added a hit apiece.Lilly Smith led the way at the plate in the loss for Netherton Dentistry, going 3-for-3.Tennessee Warehouse took the one-run lead early in the top of the first thanks to Haile’s RBI triple, scoring Cocke, 1-0.It didn’t take long for Netherton Dentistry to grab the lead in the bottom of the inning, when Hana Parsley hit a 2-RBI double and Netherton Dentistry led by one, 2-1, after one.After Tennessee Warehouse failed to score in the top of the second, Netherton Dentistry added a run to its lead thanks to Emma Kirby’s RBI double, to give Netherton Dentistry the two-run advantage, 3-1.Tennessee Warehouse woke up again at the plate in the top of the third, when it scored five runs thanks to timely hitting up and down the lineup, to give it the three-run lead, 6-3 heading into the bottom of the inning.Netherton Dentistry cut the lead to one in the bottom of the inning courtesy of an Abigail Netherton 2-RBI triple, 6-5, after three.Tennessee Warehouse stretched the lead to four in the top of the fourth, 9-5, leaving Netherton Dentistry with one final chance in its final at-bat.Netherton Dentistry cut the lead to one, 9-8 as it scored three quick runs in the bottom of the inning but failed to see any more runs cross the plate, giving Tennessee Warehouse the victory in opening-round action.
