Playing opening night on the road, the Boyd Broncos traveled to Bobby Ray Elementary to play the Stars in 5-6 grade boys basketball action Tuesday night. Despite a flurry of fourth-quarter scoring by the Broncos, the Stars shined consistently brighter with a 25-21 victory.Hitting for 9 of his 13 points, including a nice 3-pointer, Boyd’s Gage Harris was part of the late-game catchup attempt. The Broncos outscored the Stars 15-4 in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough to combat the steady stream of Bobby Ray’s Treyton Terry and Isaiah Cummings, who had 11 and 8 points, respectively.“We are young and small but my kids play with great heart and intensity,” said Boyd head coach Chris Perry.
