Tuesday's winter weather put athletic directors in Warren County in overdrive in hopes of getting in regular-season games before the start of postseason play. Both Warren County and Boyd saw key district battles postponed due to weather, but both have fortunately already settled on make-up dates.
The Pioneers and Lady Pioneers, who both will be battling for the top spot in District 6-4A Friday at home against Coffee County, will be moving this week's postponement against Shelbyville to next Tuesday, Feb. 7. The games are set to start at 6 p.m. Both Warren County teams enter tonight's matchup with the Red Raiders with 3-1 records in district play. With wins tonight and next week against Shelbyville, both could do no worse than finish tied for the regular-season championship (the Pioneers, with back-to-back wins, would win District 6-4A outright). Tip-off tonight is set for 6 p.m.
The Lady Broncos and Broncos will be looking to finish up play in the TSIAA South Division when they travel to take on Franklin Christian Academy Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 5 p.m.
The Lady Broncos are 9-2 in conference play, while the Broncos are working for their first win.
Boyd will be at home tonight against St. Andrews Sewanee. It is senior night and homecoming for the school, with festivities set to start at 4 p.m.
Postseason tournaments will begin the week of Feb. 12-18.
