Pioneers trample Trojans

It was a night of firsts for the Warren County Middle School football team Tuesday night at Nunley Stadium.
Raleigh Woods, A.D. Majors and Jacob Rabbideau each scored their first touchdowns as Pioneers, the Warren County defense got its first shutout and coach Adam Wood earned his first career win as Warren County defeated the Franklin South Trojans 34-0.
Woods, Majors and Rabbideau each scored in the second half, while Brendan Breedlove rushed for a pair of 1-yard touchdowns in the first half to help the Pioneers break a two-game losing streak in dominating fashion.
Majors set the tone from the opening kickoff. Warren County received the kick and Majors raced 55 yards to set up the Pioneers in Franklin South territory.
Trayton Rackley started the series with a five-yard completion to Logan Wilson, then the Pioneers went to the ground seven straight times to cover 20 yards and score. Breedlove was the first to find the endzone as he powered his way in with 4:29 remaining in the first quarter. The Pioneers failed on the two-point conversion, leaving Warren County ahead 6-0.
The second possession for Warren County ended deep in Trojan territory on a fumble by Jamey Jennings, but the running back made up for it with a big special-teams play.
Jennings dove on a muffed punt early in the second quarter, giving the Pioneers the ball near midfield. Warren County marched 44 yards in seven plays, highlighted by a 22-yard run by Jennings, as Breedlove made it a 12-point lead 11 seconds before halftime with his second touchdown.
The Pioneer points kept piling up when the teams returned to the field in the second half. Woods started the scoring when he took an end-around handoff and raced 36 yards to paydirt. Breedlove added more points on a successful two-point conversion as Warren County took a commanding 20-0 lead.
On the ensuing possession for the Trojans, Ethan Stuart and Logan Dyer ended any chance of Franklin South mounting a comeback as the pair had back-to-back sacks to force a punt.
Instead of sending nobody back to field the punt like the Pioneers did the previous two Trojan punts, Majors ventured near midfield to await the ball.
When Majors fielded the punt on a bounce at the Franklin South 44, nobody was stopping the speedy Pioneer. Majors sprinted untouched down the home sideline for another Warren County touchdown. Breedlove made it 28-0 with another two-point conversion.
Rabbideau ended the rout with an eight-yard touchdown run with 1:48 to play as Warren County went ahead 34-0. The defense, which allowed only 30 yards of offense to the visitors, completed the shutout by holding Franklin South out of the endzone to end the game.
Jennings led the Pioneers with 108 yards rushing on 19 carries. Woods finished with 66 yards on three carries, including his 36-yard touchdown run.
Rackley finished 2-for-5 passing for 19 yards. Wilson and Dyer each had one catch apiece.
Stuart and Krojhn Calbert led the Pioneers with six tackles apiece.
Warren County returns to action next Tuesday when the Pioneers hit the road to play Shelbyville Harris in Central Tennessee Conference action. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
