If the Warren County High School football team’s season was a horse race, this would be the time the announcer would be screaming, “and down the stretch they come.”With only two games remaining on the schedule, the Pioneers will try to finish the 2012 season strong starting tonight at Nunley Stadium. Warren County (2-6) welcomes the 5-3 Tullahoma Wildcats to town for a 7 p.m. game which features two teams heading in opposite directions. The Pioneers are still hurting from a 35-6 loss last week to the White County Warriors which knocked Warren County out of playoff contention. The Wildcats on the other hand enter tonight’s game on a two-game winning streak, having beat their 8-AAA foes Franklin County and Shelbyville in back-to-back weeks.Coach Tommy Johnson knows the challenge tonight will be motivating his team for a tough opponent after the Pioneers’ postseason dreams were dashed. “We want to try to finish strong and go into the offseason with some momentum,” said Johnson.
