Pioneers, Tigers set to tangle
Trevor Collins runs the ball upfield after catching a pass during offensive drills at WCHS football practice on Wednesday afternoon.

The Pioneers will go into enemy territory tonight as they face the DeKalb County Tigers on the road. Last year saw a closely contested game, which saw the Tigers prevail 23-14, behind junior quarterback Stephen Jennings two rushing touchdowns.
Pioneer head coach Tom Moore had this to say about Jennings and the DeKalb County attack. "I'm not sure if anyone has really stopped him. Our best defense is going to be a good offense and we don't want to give up the big play against this good offense."
Some Pioneer players to keep an eye on in the game on offense include: quarterback, Isaiah Grayson, wide receivers Tyree Ladet and McCall Turner and Ethan Stuart on the offensive line.
On the defensive side of the ball for the Pioneers, keep an eye on defensive end Hunter Hawkins, linebackers Trayton Rackley and Logan Dyer and Trevor Collins and Noah Campbell in the secondary.
According to DeKalb County head football coach Steve Trapp, some players to keep an eye on for the Tigers include: Jennings, left tackle and defensive tackle, Eli Cross, wide receivers, Isaiah Jones and Matthew Poss, defensive tackles, Tayvian Nokes and Devin Bain, running back Tyler Bundy, defensive back Drew Castorensa, linebackers Taylor Lee and Nick May and safeties Riley Sexton and Christian Pruitt.
Trapp had this to say about tomorrow's season opener against the Pioneers.
"The beginning of high school football is a very exciting time for a lot of people and we are grateful for the opportunity to open the season with a quality football program such as Warren County. We are looking forward to a great atmosphere and a great game in DeKalb County on Friday night."
The Pioneers and Tigers will kickoff tonight at 7 p.m.
