Moose Lodge tops Ben Lomand Connect

Moose Lodge’s big 4-run fourth inning Tuesday night on Hoover-Millraney Field paid dividends as they defeated Ben Lomand Connect 10-8 in boys ages 6-8 youth league season play.Runs by Moose Lodge team members Daylen Holquin, Adrian Harris, Aaron Tallent and Robert Smith broke the 6-4 lead Ben Lomand held after the top of the fourth inning, leaving the Lodge ahead 8-6 going into the fifth.Both teams had 2 runs in the fifth inning as Huck Damon and John Brock scored for Ben Lomand Connect and Tallent and Smith scored for Moose Lodge to account for the final 10-8 margin.Ben Lomand connected early in the game to take a 2-run lead in the top of the first inning after Eastlan Green and John Brock both scored as first and second batters.Moose Lodge had a meeting of the minds in the bottom of the inning however, as Braylor Jones, Holquin, Harris and Tyler Woodless all scored in batting order with 4 runs and 4 at-bats pushing and stealing their way home, 4-2.Ben Lomand Connect communicated they weren’t through by any means as Connect’s D stood tall not allowing any runs in the second and third innings while Ty Arnold and Green scored in the second and third innings, respectively, to tie the game 4-4.League games continue Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m. at McMinnville Civic Center.
