Warren County head football coach Tom Moore announced last week he will be holding a football camp for boys of ages 7 to 14 at the high school June 15-18, Monday through Thursday. Cost of the camp is $40 which includes a camp T-shirt. Coach Moore said he will run the camp much like the camps at other programs he has coached.
“We will focus on football fundamentals with an emphasis on the skill positions – quarterback, receiver, running back,” Moore said.
The camp will run 9-11 a.m. each morning and the camp will be held on the practice field at the high school. The camp will not be an in-pads camp.
“All of our varsity coaches will be working this camp and we expect our varsity players to be there every day as well, “Moore said.
Coach Moore said he loves the week of football camp because he can really focus on fundamentals with many of the younger athletes in Warren County. The Pioneer varsity staff includes David Upton, Paul Martin, Tim Taylor, Isaac Slatton, Cameron Bond, Ben Matheney and newcomer Curt Jones.
Coach Moore said coach Jones would be working with the corners and safeties this season, while coordinating the Pioneer defense. He described coach Jones as an excellent communicator and teacher of the game.
Coach Moore will work with all of the quarterbacks and receivers himself. “We expect our two quarterbacks, A.D. Major and Isaiah Grayson, to be at the camp as well. They will be working on the fundamentals of playing the position of quarterback,” Moore explained.
An outstanding high school quarterback at MBA, Moore has worked with all of the skilled positions during his time at Brentwood Academy, MBA, and Christian Brothers High School.
“We hope all boys interested in playing football in Warren County will attend our camp. It is a great way for you to get to know our varsity coaches and our varsity players.” Please see sign-up information below about football camp and walk-ups are welcome.
