It couldn't have been a better start of the season for McMinnville Swim Team last week. The talented group made a huge splash, winning both the men's and women's meets against Shelbyville.
The girls were separated by a single point, as McMinnville Swim Team edged Shelbyville 131-130. The local boys pulled away in the pool, winning 128-102. Overall, MST was able to pull through 290-248 on the road.
Every year coach Paige Northcutt seems to find a big group that can fly in the pool and this season looks to be no different. Despite it being the first meet of the year for the McMinnville Swim Team, several members of the team looked to be in mid-season form.
Evelyn Fry highlighted the many wins for the girls by taking home the title in the girls 13-14 fly, while relay teams - like the boys 15-and-over freestyle group (Dean Cooper, Everett Watson, Noah Greer and Hunter Cooper) - excelled for both teams.
