Locals compete in Escape from Alcatraz triathlon

The 35th annual Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon took place on Sunday, June 7. The race started and ended at the Marina Green underneath the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It featured three segments consisting of a 1.5-mile swim, followed by an 18-mile bike ride and finished with a grueling 8-mile run.Scott Tinley, two-time Ironman champion and the 1989 winner of the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, was among the entrants.
