Lady Pioneers top Nashville Central

The Warren County High School Lady Pioneers finished their weekend Cannon County Thanksgiving Classic with a little dessert Saturday, hanging on to a narrow lead, 63-58, for the win over Nashville Central in Woodbury.
Leading the offense for the Lady Pioneers was Megan Patch hitting from downtown for 3 five times, a bucket for 2 points and 2-for-2 from the charity stripe for the game-high score of 19 points.
Warren County held a 1-point lead at halftime, 33-32, which the Lady Pioneers turned into a 7-point advantage after three quarters.
Shooting well from the charity stripe added 16 points to the Lady Pioneer final tally, having 22 shots from the line. It was enough to edge the Lady Warriors, who shot 65 percent, 13-for-20, from the foul line.
Lady Pioneer Anna Bain added 12 points and Tyra Wright was right behind with 11 points scored.
Lady Warrior Lexi Christensen was Warren County’s main nemesis scoring 15, but the Lady Pioneers were able to D up and keep Nashville Central from closing the gap in the fourth quarter.
Also scoring for Warren County were Elsa Eckenrod with 9 points, Callie Cathcart 6 and Emily Mikkola shot for 4 points.
