Lady Broncos win 58-13

The Boyd Christian Lady Broncos were back to their familiar ways Tuesday night in Shelbyville, gaining a resounding victory over Victory Baptist Academy, 58-13.

Boyd jumped ahead 15-0 after the first quarter and didn’t have much trouble in improving to 34-3 on the season. Anna Jones led Boyd with 15, highlighted by three 3-pointers in the third quarter.

The game was rescheduled from earlier in the season, giving Boyd a chance to stay focused between its conference tournament, which was last weekend, and the year-end NACA Tournament next week in Dayton.

“We are healthy and the girls are excited for it,” said Boyd girls coach Tim Page of competing at nationals. “With teams from around the country, it’s new competition and a good opportunity to face different opponents. Our team has been ready and confident all season. They have played together as a team all season.”

NACA stands for National Association of Christian Athletes. It’s a true national tournament with teams coming to Dayton from all over the U.S.

Boyd lost in its conference championship last Saturday, the first time the Lady Broncos have lost with all five starters in the lineup. The NACA Tournament is March 2-4.
