In 7-9 girls youth softball action, Dr. Franson Orthopedics faced Tennessee Warehouse on Hoover-Millraney Field on Thursday night.When the dust settled, Dr. Franson took home the win, 10-7, in a close shave at McMinnville Civic Center.Holding Tennessee Warehouse to 1 run in the first inning by Ivy Elrod, team orthopedics rallied on the straight and narrow, earning 6 runs in the bottom of the first.Scoring for Dr. Elrod were Kayden Gipson, Allie Melton, Hana Parsley, Maci McBride, Leah McBride and Ava Franson, who all crossed home for a 6-1 lead.Tennessee Warehouse decided it needed to get back on schedule, and delivered a 6-run inning of its own in the second as Kaylee Kneer, Brynlee Chisam, Addy Cocke, Presley Winfree, Lola Wells and Kinsley Shields brought them right back in the game, 7-6.Alyssa Young and Melton added two runs to Dr. Franson Orthopedics in the bottom of the inning to retain the lead going into the third, 8-7.With the game in the balance, Tennessee Warehouse couldn’t get its offense back in gear for the remainder of the contest. Meanwhile, Franson added a run in the third and Melton 1 more in the fourth which turned out to account for the final margin.
