Dibrell Wildcat Jordan Sandlin helped his team win round one in the James C. Haile Tournament in Murfreesboro at Middle Tennessee Christian School. The Wildcats advance to play again Thursday, Jan. 19 at 8:15 p.m. as they face Friendship Christian in Miller Gym.
The Dibrell Wildcats took an out-of-county tournament win Monday, as they defeated Allons Elementary, 27-19, in round one of the James C. Haile Tournament at Murfreesboro Christian School.In a close contest, 16-13 at the break, the Wildcats held the lead despite a fourth-quarter rally by the Hawks where they outscored Dibrell 8-2.Wildcat Will Wrisner broke double digits in the contest, hitting for 12 points and a game-high.If the Wildcats had an Achilles heel in the game, it was shooting from the charity stripe going 3-of-14 or 21 percent. Allons was 5-of-11 or 45 percent.Blaine Melton was the top scorer for Allons with 11 points.Also scoring for Dibrell were Rheagan Woodlee with 5 points, Jordan Sandlin and Bryson Elrod with 4 points apiece and Aaron Ashburn hit a bucket for 2 points.The Dibrell Wildcats advance to round two Thursday, Jan. 19, as they face Friendship Christian at Murfreesboro Christian School. Game time is 8:15 p.m. at Miller Gym.
