KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee guard/forward Jaime Nared has broken her left hand, putting her status for the start of the season in jeopardy.
Lady Vols coach Holly Warlick estimated Tuesday that Nared would miss three to four weeks but added that the 6-foot-2 sophomore will undergo further examination. Nared said she was out indefinitely but "three to four weeks would be the goal."
Tennessee opens the season Nov. 15 by hosting Central Arkansas.
Warlick says Nared's injury occurred during Monday's practice. Nared said she hurt her hand while diving on the floor to chase a loose ball during a rebounding drill.
Nared, who is from Portland, Oregon, averaged 5.2 points, 3.5 rebounds and 15.7 minutes per game last season. She made three starts.
