Big Trouble takes down Wilson Cutting

Big Trouble had little trouble taking care of Wilson Cutting in the only men’s league game Tuesday night at the Civic Center.
Wilson Cutting held its own in the opening quarter but the offense took a timeout in the second quarter, posting a dismal four-point total. After halftime, it was more big trouble for Wilson Cutting as Big Trouble won by a final score of 72-33.
Deon Martin was the game-high scorer with 19 points for Big Trouble and Terren Martin was close behind with 17.
Wilson Cutting had dug itself into a pretty deep hole by halftime. Coty Grissom and John Collins put the only points on the board for Wilson Cutting in the second quarter as Big Trouble pulled away.
After the half it was Big Trouble the rest of the way, unloading a heavy arsenal of inside and outside shots from anywhere on the floor. Three different players showed their range in the third quarter by pulling the trigger on 3-pointers that were right on target.
Brady Powers, Terren Powers, and Deon Martin combined for 19 of the 21 points for Big Trouble in the third quarter.
Wilson Cutting had a far better third quarter than the second led by Todd Dunn who dropped all eight of his points in during the third period. John Gilispie and Coty Grissom also knocked down baskets for Wilson Cutting in the third. The game got very physical in the second half and frustration was apparent by the fouls committed. Defensive strategies looked like anything goes on both ends of the floor and by the end of the third Big Trouble held a convincing lead of 44-27.
Big Trouble never let up and the fourth quarter was its highest scoring quarter of the game. Big Trouble dropped 28 points in the final period behind Deon Martin and Donte Weir.
The Big Trouble offense was firing and hitting. Wilson Cutting was still firing but the shots just would not fall and down the stretch when they were needed most.
