Warren County Middle School competed in its first track meet of the season at home Thursday against South Middle School from Franklin County. The Lady Pioneers won 33-29, and the Pioneers won 33-30 for a sweep over the visiting Lady Trojans and Trojans.

WCMS track coach Mendy Stotts was excited to start the season and was pleased with her team’s results. Stotts said, “Coach Pritt and I were very proud with everyone’s performance, and very pleased with our team. Several of the kids had never participated in a track and field meet before and came out fearless on Thursday. I was also very proud of how our kids cheered each other on and got excited for their teammates during the competition. This is a great group of kids, and they are competitors. It should be a fun year.”

The middle school Pioneer track team is in action again on March 25 at Coffee County.
