6 - WCHS cheerleaders win national title

Months of preparation paid off for the WCHS competition cheerleaders when the squad traveled to Atlanta in February.

Competing against teams from New Jersey, Arkansas, Florida, Georida and New York, the WCHS cheerleaders graded out the best over two days of competition. Warren County was named the national champion in the senior recreational level 3 division. Overall, the event featured 900 teams and Warren County had the highest score of all recreational squads.

Two members of the cheerleading team also competed in another portion of the event with their travel squad. Selena Glenn and Caitlin Cantrell took home a second championship while representing Power Athletics out of Atlanta.

Members of the the competition squad were Glenn, Cantrell, Kenzie Walker, Kassidy Byars, Mia Henry, Heidy-Lin Teeters. Koley Campbell, Deryn Allen, Kievan Woods, Araya Buchanan, Allyson Whiteaker, Kensley Whiteaker, Ellie Noblin and Zoye Henry.
