How could anyone in the town of Morrison think that this massive steel building that is under construction would “fit in” with its surrounding residential neighborhood?
As each day of construction of this behemoth building looms over residences and farmlands, it proves more and more that this industrial manufacturing building has been permitted to be developed in the wrong place. It’s probably even bigger than any building that exists in the town’s industrial area.
Each day we are awakened before 7 a.m. by the “beep, beep, beep and bang, bang, bang,” from on-site trucks and construction activity, which then continues all day, late into the night, most times until 7:30 pm.
What is shocking is the town code only allows the construction activity to occur weekdays, between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. So, how can this continue to happen? Because nobody at the town is doing anything to stop them.
When you call a town official, they are completely unaware of what is going on and do nothing to stop the contractor working beyond the permitted hours of construction.
Although formal complaints have been filed with the town, they are ignored.
We can’t sit outside in this beautiful weather after dinner, or read a book, or peacefully do our morning prayers. We are left to simply turn the TV on to try to drown out the noise.
All because the town of Morrison ignored their own zoning regulations to permit the construction of this monstrosity in the middle of a residential neighborhood, which in both size and activity is proving to be a very bad decision, for which someone should be held accountable!
